Abstract:
The present invention provides a hydrogenation method for a hydrocarbon mixture containing 1, 3-butadiene and vinyl acetylene, which is capable of hydrogenating vinyl acetylene, while suppressing decrease of the 1, 3-butadiene concentration. A hydrogenation method according to the present invention is a hydrogenation method for a hydrocarbon mixture containing 1, 3-butadiene and vinyl acetylene, said hydrogenation method comprising a step for hydrogenating at least vinyl acetylene by bringing the hydrocarbon mixture and a hydrogenation catalyst into contact with each other in the presence of hydrogen. The hydrocarbon mixture contains 1% by mass or more of vinyl acetylene; and the hydrogenation catalyst contains palladium, while having a CO adsorption of 0.5 cm3/g or less.
