Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a novel hydrophilic copolymer capable of forming a surface lubrication layer that exhibits durability (lubricity-maintaining properties). The present invention pertains to a hydrophilic copolymer that contains a structural unit derived from polymerizable monomer (A) having a sulfobetaine structure, a structural unit derived from polymerizable monomer (B) having at least one group selected from the group consisting of sulfonic acid group (-SO3H), sulfuric acid group (-OSO3H), sulfurous acid group (-OSO2H) and salts thereof, and a structural unit derived from polymerizable monomer (C) having a -Si(R1)a(OR2)3-a group (wherein: R1s independently represent a linear or branched alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, a linear or branched acyl group having 2-21 carbon atoms or a linear or branched ether group having 2-21 carbon atoms; R2s independently represent a hydrogen atom, a linear or branched alkyl group having 1-20 carbon atoms, a linear or branched acyl group having 2-21 carbon atoms or a linear or branched ether group having 2-21 carbon atoms; and a is an integer of 0-2).
