Abstract:
An ice maker of the present invention comprises: an upper assembly including an upper tray for forming a portion of an ice chamber for making ice; a lower assembly including a lower tray for forming another portion of the ice chamber; a driving unit positioned at one side of the lower assembly so as to rotate the lower assembly; a lower heater for providing heat to the lower tray; and a control part for controlling the driving unit and the lower heater according to one of a first mode and a second mode which differ in the degree of ice clearness, wherein the control part can operate the lower heater in a first state if the first mode is selected, and can operate the lower heater in a second state if the second mode is selected.
