Abstract:
The purpose of the present embodiment is to provide an illumination device capable of emitting high-luminance light uniform in light quantity. The illumination device according to the present embodiment is provided with: a plurality of first protrusions provided to a first main surface of a first light guide plate; a plurality of second protrusions provided to a second main surface; a plurality of third protrusions provided to a third main surface of a second light guide plate; and, a plurality of fourth protrusions provided to a fourth main surface. The first light guide plate has a first region that includes a first side surface, and a second region that includes a first central section of the first light guide plate. The second light guide plate has a third region that includes a second side surface, and a fourth region that includes a second central section of the second light guide plate. The plurality of first protrusions and second protrusions are provided in the second region. The first light guide plate becomes thinner moving away from the first side surface and approaching the first central section. The plurality of third protrusions and the plurality of fourth protrusions are provided in the third region. The third region has a constant thickness. The fourth region is a recess.
