Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an illumination system with which a visual effect is provided such that it is possible to give an appearance of expanding depth on the far side of a wall face, even if a person stands directly in front thereof. [Solution] An illumination system (100) comprises a light source (130), and a decoration plate (120) which provides a reflection face which reflects illumination light which the light source (130) illuminates. The reflection face of the decoration plate (120) is a reflection-worked face in which are disposed a plurality of grooves which are very narrow parallel lines or parallel curved lines with respect to a flat plane. A support body (110) supports the light source (130) facing and in close proximity to the reflection-worked face of the decoration plate (120). Light points appear arranged perpendicularly in the center of the decoration plate (120) facing the light source. The formation locations of virtual images of each of the light points are formed the further in the depth direction from the reflection-worked face the further apart they are vertically, and thus a viewer has the sense of viewing a light beam track which is formed when a horizontal plane which seemingly expands horizontally in the depth of the wall face is illuminated, and has the sense of viewing an expanding space in the depth direction of the wall face.
