Abstract:
An image capturing apparatus comprising: an image capturing unit that captures images; a focus control unit that controls the focus of the image capturing unit; a subject selection accepting unit that accepts a subject selection operation; and an image processing unit that processes the images captured by the image capturing unit, the image capturing apparatus being characterized in that: the image capturing unit captures a plurality of images with the focus thereof being changed by the focus control unit, at least one of the plurality of images being captured on the basis of the focus position of a selected subject accepted by the subject selection accepting unit; and the image processing unit generates, from the plurality of images, an image the field depth of which has been increased relative to the one captured image.
