Abstract:
Provided are an image file conversion method, an image file conversion device, and a program that manage formats of image files such that various additional information can be added. The image file conversion method comprises: an acquiring step for acquiring a first image file containing image data in which a subject is recorded; a determining step for determining whether the file format of the first image file, namely a first format, satisfies the condition that additional information can be added thereto, the additional information including information about the subject or information on rights pertaining to the first image file; and a converting step for converting the first image file to a second image file in a second format if the first format does not satisfy the condition, the second format being a file format to which additional information can be added.
