Abstract:
Provided is an image formation device that minimizes occurrences where the number of times an expendable memory is rewritten reaches an upper limit value when an expendable article is refilled with printing material without replacing the expendable memory. An image formation device (1) comprises a body housing (10), a developing cartridge (4) that can be mounted on the body housing (10), and a controller (61). The developing cartridge (4) is provided with a toner memory (42) having a first storage area in which the amount of use of the developing cartridge (4) can be written and a second storage area in which the amount of use of the expendable article can be written, the toner memory being an expendable memory that stores recycling history information indicating the recycling history of the developing cartridge (4). In accordance with the recycling history information, the controller (61) executes a determination process to determine either the first storage area or the second storage area as the storage area in which the amount of use is written.
