Abstract:
Provided is a method whereby an expendable memory can be continuously used until the number of times the expendable memory is written reaches an upper limit value when the expendable memory is filled with a printing material such as toner without replacing the expendable memory. An image formation device (1) comprises a device body (10), a developing cartridge (4) that can be mounted on the device body (10), a controller (61), and a body memory (62). The developing cartridge (4) is provided with a toner memory (42) having a first area in which information pertaining to the developing cartridge (4) can be stored, and a second area in which the number of times the first area has been written in is stored. The controller (61) executes a first determination process for determining whether the developing cartridge (4) can be recycled, on the basis of upper limit value information (425), a number of times of writing (434), and capacity information (422).
