Abstract:
Disclosed is an image-forming apparatus, which can eliminate sticking phenomenon on a paper catch tray by cooling paper in the early stage by blowing air to the paper in the transfer path, and which can eliminate turning, folding, tearing, and jamming of the paper due to paper transfer performance with the blowing of air to the paper in the transfer path.
At the start of paper transfer, a sixth transfer path (44) is closed by rotating a gate (73) upward to a first position, a first transfer path (42) and a second transfer path (43) are connected to each other, and the transfer of the paper from the first transfer path (42) to the second transfer path (43) is started, said paper having passed through a fixing unit (21). At the same time, air is released by means of an air releasing mechanism (53) disposed in the upstream of the cooling mechanism (76). When a first paper sensor (74) detects the leading end of the paper, a cooling fan (77) starts to rotate at a predetermined rotation speed, and air blowing with a predetermined cooling air volume is started.
