Abstract:
The present invention relates to an image forming method and an image forming apparatus with which, when an image is formed according to an inkjet method using gel ink, a difference in gloss between a region in which the image is formed and a region in which the image is not formed can be reduced regardless of the type of paper base material used. The image forming method according to the present invention is an image forming method by which an image is formed on paper base material using inkjet ink that undergoes a sol-gel phase transition with temperature. The image forming method includes: a step of subjecting a paper base material to corona discharge treatment; a step of causing a liquid droplet of inkjet ink to land on a surface of the paper base material subjected to the corona discharge treatment; and a step of irradiating the liquid droplet of inkjet ink that has landed on the paper base material with an actinic light ray to cure the inkjet ink.
