Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image encoding/decoding method and device based on a high-level syntax for defining a profile, and a recording medium on which a bitstream is stored. The image decoding method according to one embodiment of the disclosure comprises the steps of: acquiring profile tier level (PTL) information about an image; and determining a profile and a tier of the image on the basis of the profile tier level information, wherein the profile tier level information includes a profile indicator indicating the type of profile for the image, the profile type includes a basic profile or an extended profile, and the extended profile can include a neural network (NN)-based profile and a machine-analysis-based profile.
