Abstract:
An image pickup apparatus comprising a single-chip solid-state image sensor in which false color generated through signal processing is suppressed perfectly. The image pickup apparatus further comprises means (105) in which the color reproduction range of the image pickup apparatus is stored previously, a false color judging means (106) for judging whether or not the results of calculation by a luminance signal calculating means (103) and a color signal calculating means (104) fall within the color reproduction range stored in the color reproduction range storing means (105), and a circuit (107) for suppressing false color by lowering the color gain when the input signal is judged to be out of the color reproduction range.
