Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an image processing apparatus and a program that are capable of suppressing ringing generated in data of an image having high image quality while taking into consideration the sharpness of the image in the data. [Solution] The present invention provides an image processing apparatus having: a ringing occurrence level estimation unit that estimates, on the basis of inputted image data, ringing occurrence level representing the frequency at which ringing occurs; a sharpness estimation unit that estimates, on the basis of the inputted image data, sharpness emphasis level representing the level of the sharpness of an inputted image represented by the inputted image data; and an adjustment unit that executes, on converted image data obtained by image-converting the inputted image data, an adjusting process for controlling the level of the image conversion for each pixel on the basis of the ringing occurrence level and/or the sharpness emphasis level.
