Abstract:
For the purpose of providing a modifier for a cellulose ester resin whereby an optical film having low moisture permeability and minimal dimensional change in response to a change in humidity is obtained, the present invention provides a modifier for a cellulose ester resin, containing: an ester compound (X1) represented by formula (1) (where G in the formula represents a residue of a C2-10 polyhydric alcohol, A represents an aromatic monocarboxylic acid residue having a structure in which some or all hydrogen atoms in an aromatic ring are substituted with hydroxyl groups, and n represents an integer of 2 to 6); and a polyester polyol (X2) having a number-average molecular weight of 300-1,500 and a hydroxyl group value of 50-350, and having a C2-8 alkylene dicarboxylic acid residue or a C6-12 aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue, and a C2-6 alkylene glycol residue or a C4-6 oxyalkylene glycol residue in the main-chain backbone thereof.
