Abstract:
An image processing device pertaining to one embodiment is provided with an acquisition unit, a first identification unit, and a second identification unit. The acquisition unit acquires an edge between a character region on which a translucent character is superposed and a background region on which no translucent character is superposed. The first identification unit acquires multiple instances of a pair comprising a representative color in the character region and a representative color in the background region which are adjacent to each other across the edge, and identifies a character color and a transmittance of the translucent character from a plurality of pairs. The second identification unit identifies, for each pixel in the character region, a pixel color before the translucent character was superposed on the basis of a pixel color after the translucent character was superposed, the character color, and the transmittance.
