Abstract:
This technology relates to an image processing device and a method that enable a reduction in the processing time required for decoding. A search unit divides an access unit comprising a plurality of processing regions into a plurality of search regions, each of which differs in size from the processing regions, and performs a search of a starting position of the processing regions that serves as a reference when allocating the processing regions respectively to a plurality of decoding units, starting from a strong candidate region that is a search region with a high probability of including the starting position of the processing region. This technique can be applied to an image processing system.
