Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible to change the contrast of an image, from the global resolution contrast to the low-resolution contrast, without significantly changing the local high-resolution contrast of the image. An input image 200 is subjected to a block-level reference image preparation process 250 to prepare block-level reference images 220-223, and in the block-level reference image preparation process 250 the input image 200 is divided into the same blocks used in preparation of block integration images 214-217, thereby preparing low-resolution images in which the resolution of each block image has been lowered. By means of a low-resolution contrast replacement consolidation process 271, the block-level values of the block-level reference images 220-223 are replaced with the low-resolution contrast of each block integration image 214-217 on a block-by-block basis, thereby changing the contrast of the block integration images 214-217 on a block basis, and a weight-averaged output image 234 is prepared.
