Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an image processing method for achieving brightness and contrast over an entire image while eliminating a partially noticeable bright part thereof. [Solution] The image processing method compares the pixel values (brightness) of reference pixels P1 to P8 with the pixel value of a subject pixel P0 in order. Then, the image processing method counts, as a count value satisfying both conditions, the number of reference pixels each having a pixel value equal to or smaller than the pixel value of the subject pixel P0 and having a histogram value that is incremented by one and equal to or smaller than a gradient restriction value through comparison therewith, and outputs brightness of the subject pixel on the basis of the count value satisfying the both conditions.
