Abstract:
According to the present disclosure, provided is an imaging device comprising a plurality of pixel units, the pixel units having: a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements; a floating diffusion that outputs charges that have been photoelectrically converted by the photoelectric conversion elements in the pixel units; and an analog/digital conversion unit that converts, into a digital signal, a signal that corresponds to the charges photoelectrically converted by the photoelectric conversion elements. The pixel units have: a first mode in which the charges photoelectrically converted by the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements are transferred to the floating diffusion in differing periods, and in accordance with the differing periods, conversion periods according to the analog/digital conversion unit are differentiated; and a second mode in which the charges generated by at least two among the plurality of photoelectric conversion elements are transferred to the floating diffusion, and simultaneously converted by the analog/digital conversion unit.
