Abstract:
There is provided an imaging device in which its optical system is simplified, its
cost is reduced, and a reconstructed image with an appropriate image quality and
small noise effects can be obtained. A method for fabricating the imaging device
is also provided. The imaging device comprises an optical system (110) and an
imaging element (120) for forming a first image and an image processing device
(140) for forming the first image into a high-definition final image. The optical
system (110) includes an optical wave modulator for modulating an optical transfer
function (OTF) and a diaphragm disposed adjacent to the optical wave modulator.
When the diameter of the diaphragm aperture is denoted by φ and the distance
between the diaphragm and a phase modulation element is denoted by D, the condition
φ Œ D < 2 is satisfied.
