Abstract:
The present technology pertains to an imaging device that is able to obtain useful information more reliably. The imaging device is equipped with: an optical system that focuses incident light from a photographic subject; an imaging element that captures a photographic image by photoelectrically converting incident light from the optical system; and a cover glass which is provided between the optical system and the imaging element, and protects the surface of the imaging element. Furthermore, the cover glass is arranged inclined with respect to the imaging element. Therefore, even if stray light (which is light entering the imaging element through the optical system and the cover glass and reflected by the imaging element) enters the cover glass, that stray light is reflected in the direction of a less hazardous region of the imaging element by the cover glass, so flaring caused by the stray light can be reduced in a region where recognizability is more useful. The present technology can be applied to vehicle-mounted cameras, ceiling-mounted monitoring cameras, and the like.
