Description:
IMPROVEMENT INTRODUCED IN A PANEL STRUCTURE FOR AN ELEVATED FLOOR Technical field of the invention The present invention has as its object the structure of a panel to construct an elevated floor Prior art It is known in the art that elevated floors are substantially constituted by metallic frames provided with supporting legs that make contact with the base floor, and support the modular panels precast into standard dimensions, laid side by side.

These frames provide, in the practice, a hollow space between the base floor and the walking level provided by the panels laid side by side.

In this way, it is possible to place along the hollow zone under the walking level, electrical and telephone wires, pipes etc.

In case of fixing damage or a maintenance intervention, aiming to repair the facilities and/or installations thereon, the elevated floor structure is such that the panels can be removed, enabling the intervention in question and afterwards laid back to the original position.

The elevated floor also allows the creation of a new finishing to the unfinished zone and/or its restructure being easily disassembled and reassembled in some other zone, this way ensuring the maximum flexibility when a modification in the lay-out or a change in its use is required.

The panels are generally constituted of a top layer made of noble material that can be any laminated, vinyl, linoleum, wood, carpet, ceramic, natural stones, glass, steel, etc., and any other

material possible to be used in the application.

The structure layer is associated to a supporting body that can be made of various kinds of material, among which it is possible to mention as a matter of example, agglomerated wood, gypsum, cement, or a combination thereof, and etc.

The main limitation of the panels used for elevated floors known in the art, consists in the fact that they should have standardized dimensions, which most of the times are not kept due to problems related to the manufacturing process of the panel itself.

Due to the irregularity of the dimensions, the operation of laying the panels becomes a lot difficult, resulting in a very uneven walking floor.

To amend this problem, the panels are most of the times provided, along their edge perimeter with a finishing in plastic material, that by its turn, comprehends an operation of providing a joint, what results in an overall cost increase on the panel itself.

Disclosure of the invention The main objective of the present invention is to solve or substantially reduce the problems related to the panel used in elevated floors of the prior art, particularly regarding their production and/or manufacturing process.

Within the field of the main objective of the present invention, one of its important scopes is to accurately obtain a panel producible in an easy way and/or counting on an easy manufacturability under the standardized dimensions.

Another important scope within the field of the present invention is to accurately obtain a panel particularly strong.

Still another important scope within the field of the present

invention is to accurately obtain a panel applicable to elevated floors having a simple structure.

Yet, another important scope within the field of the present invention is to accurately obtain a panel to which the association with any top layer finishing can be easily achieved.

It is an important scope within the field of the present invention, to accurately obtain a panel with an elevated esthetical impact.

Yet, another important scope within the field of the present invention, but not the last one, is to accurately obtain a panel structure of low cost.

The main objective, the scopes above described and yet another scopes within the field of the present invention, which will be more specifically disclosed in the following description, come along with a panel structure for elevated floors, characterized by the fact that it comprehends a body made of plastic material in a development substantially flat, in which the edges are comprehended within a base where the perimeter develops monolithically downwards to the first wall until it achieves a first cavity, inside which, an obstruction is present acting as a structural enduring mean; and upwards to said base, it develops monolithically to the second wall until it achieves at least a second cavity inside which elements are inserted up to the definition of the walking level, said second wall comprehending at least a first portion placed in a perimeter way towards the said base up to achieve along with the first wall an outer continuous side edge narrowed from the top to the bottom.

The characteristics and advantages previously mentioned regarding the present invention, result mostly from the description of a

preferred embodiment, although not exclusively, indicated as a matter of illustration and not limited hereto, concerning to the set of figures and drawings, where: Brief description of the drawings Fig. 1 shows a panel for elevated floor with a structure according to the invention.

Fig. 2 shows an exploded feature of the panel in Fig. 1.

Fig. 3 shows a cross section of a panel in the first embodiment.

Fig. 4 shows a cross section of a panel in the second embodiment.

Fig. 5 shows a portion of the panel.

Best way of carrying out the invention With particular reference to the drawings above mentioned, a panel structure for an elevated floor, according to the invention is in general indicated with the number 10.

The structure 10 comprehends a body 11 made of plastic material in a development substantially flat, in which the edges are comprehended within a base 12 from where the perimeter develops monolithically downwards to the first wall 13 until it achieves a first cavity 20 inside which an obstruction is present acting as a structural enduring mean, that will be further better described.

On an upper position related to the base 11, monolithically in the same way, it is developed a second wall 18 until it achieves the second cavity 23 inside which, elements 14 are inserted up to the definition of the walking level.

Particularly, the second wall 18 comprehends a first portion 15 placed in a perimeter way towards the base 12 and a second

portion 16 placed internally kept apart in a parallel way from the first portion 15.

The first wall 13 and the first portion 15 of the second wall 18, cooperate to achieve the outer edge surface 17 of the body 11, narrowed from the top to the bottom.

The second wall 18 is provided in the free ending with a longitudinal flexible edge 19, turned to the inside until it compensates the various dimensions of the elements 14 the define the walking level.

Advantageously, the first wall 13 can be provided internally with a plurality of monolithically flexible longitudinal fins 24, up to insert the structural enduring elements into the first cavity 20.

According to what was mentioned, the first wall 13 defines a first cavity 20 inside which the means of structural enduring are present.

The means of structural enduring comprehends a self- supporting filling material 21 like agglomerated wood, gypsum, fiber, cement, or the combinations thereof or the like, and in this case, the first cavity 20 assuming a function of contention.

The filling material 21 can be joined through glue sticking inside the first cavity 20 and/or can be joined through pressure coupling and can be held by the fins 24.

The base 12 can be in another way provided with an external passage 22 that allows the joining means passage to stick the elements 14 to the filling material 21.

Advantageously, the means of structural enduring can also be achieved by a groove 25, a longitudinal and cross development carved monolithically to the base 12 and to the first wall 13.

As long as it relates to the working features, once the body

11 is obtained by stamping the plastic material, it is achieved a panel for an elevated floor, having inside the first cavity 20 the filing material 21 and inside the second cavity the elements 14 up to the definition of the walking level.

The elements 14 can be achieved through noble material as laminated, vinyl, linoleum, wood, carpet, ceramic, natural stones, glass steel and etc.

The perimeter uneven dimension of the elements 14, are compensated by the flexible edges 19, which can be adapted to various elements, what grants a considerably good esthetical impact to the panel.

In another form, to achieve the body 11 it can be used a plastic material with a high no deforming property and a high strength- against temperature increasing.

It is possible to see how the problem related to the production of an elevated floor is eliminated, with a particular regard to the dimensional tolerance of the same components such as the elements 14 and the filling material 21.

Also, it is herein resolved the problems regarding the laying operation of the same panels when the obstruction of the panel is in this case defined by a body 11 achieved through the stamping of plastic material when there are standard dimensions.

It is possible to see, how a panel containing a structure according to the present invention, is easily and rapidly achieved, having also a high esthetical impact.

The present invention is subject to a number of modifications and variations, all under the field of the inventive concept.

The technical details are replaceable with other equivalent technical elements.

The material, being compatible with the contingent utilization, since not available in the desired dimension, can be replaced for any material that is compatible, according to the demand.
