Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide an indication method for requesting system information, and a related device and system. The method is applied to a CU-DU separation system or relay system. The method comprises: a terminal device sends a media access control sub-protocol data unit (MAC subPDU) to a network device, the MAC subPDU comprising first indication information and a media access control service data unit (MAC SDU), and the first indication information indicating that the MAC SDU comprises a message for requesting system information; the terminal device obtains the system information sent by the network device. By identifying, on the basis of the first indication information, that the MAC SDU comprises a message for requesting system information, the network device can be effectively prevented from erroneously rejecting a system information request of a terminal, and the waste of transmission resources can be effectively avoided.
