Abstract:
An information processing device according to the present invention comprises an autonomous mobile body (10) that travels while maintaining an upright state, and an operation control unit that controls the operation of the autonomous mobile body. The autonomous mobile body comprises a main body, two wheels (570) attached to the main body, and a drive mechanism for driving the two wheels. In a first state, the operation control unit controls the drive mechanism so that the upright state resulting from the two wheels of the autonomous mobile body is maintained, and, when transitioning from the first state to a second state, controls the drive mechanism so that the autonomous mobile body is brought to rest by the two wheels and a bottom part (701) of the body. When in a seated state, the autonomous mobile body can be supported at at least three points – namely, the two wheels and the bottom part – making it possible to bring the autonomous mobile body to rest in a stable manner, and enabling smooth operation according to surroundings, thereby making it possible to realize more natural and effective communication with a user.
