Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an information processing system, a method for actuating the information processing system, and a program that realize drawing and reproducing an optimum virtual viewpoint image in a reproduction apparatus having various functions. Coordinates on a packing texture, which corresponds to three-dimensional shape data and which is generated by extracting and packing the region of a subject from camera images captured by a plurality of cameras, are set as UV coordinates, and information pertaining to the UV coordinates is added in association with the three-dimensional shape data, thereby generating three-dimensional shape data with the UV coordinates added. In rendering, when, as pertains to pixels to be drawn, there exist any pixels appearing in a camera image close to a viewpoint direction, the latter pixels are drawn through a viewpoint-dependent drawing process on the basis of the three-dimensional shape data with the UV coordinates added, and the remaining pixels are drawn through a UV map drawing process. The present disclosure can be applied to virtual viewpoint image reproduction apparatuses.
