Abstract:
An information processing system according to an embodiment comprises: one or more storage units which store a data set comprising a plurality of items of data, and internal data that is an internal data structure regarding the data set; and an acquisition unit which, upon receiving a specification of an acquisition condition including a search range of key values included in the data, uses the internal data for each of a plurality of data sets to acquire data satisfying the acquisition condition from a data set obtained by performing a prescribed operation on the plurality of data sets. The prescribed operation includes a first operation that combines two or more data sets using the key values in such a way that each item of data in each data set is combined with at most one item of data in the other data set in ascending or descending order of key value, and if there is no data to be combined, a null value is set for a data item constituting the other data set.
