Abstract:
The information providing system according to this invention comprises: a central device (3) which is provided to at least one car (10) of cars (10) forming a train (100) and acquires a degree of congestion of each car (10) from a degree-of-congestion detection unit (11) provided to each car (10); a congestion information generation unit (4) which uses the degree of congestion of each car (10) acquired by the central device (3) to generate congestion information indicating a congestion state of each car (10); and a display device (5) which is provided inside each car (10) and includes a display unit (18) for displaying the congestion information generated by the congestion information generation unit (4) to users on board each car (10), wherein the congestion information indicates the congestion state of at least one car (10) other than the car (10) provided with the display device (5) including the display unit (18) for displaying the congestion information.
