Abstract:
Provided are an ink discharge operation adjustment method and an inkjet recording device, with which the amount of ink droplets discharged from a nozzle can be accurately adjusted in a short time. This ink discharge operation adjustment method comprises: a recording step, in which ink droplets are discharged from a nozzle onto a recording medium by an ink discharge unit, causing a gray scale image and a beta image to be recorded; a fixing step of initiating the curing and fixing of the ink deposited on the recording medium; a first reading result acquisition step of acquiring the result of a reading performed by a reading means on an unrecorded area of the recording medium; a second reading result acquisition step of acquiring the results of reading the gray scale image and the beta image, for which the differential in elapsed time from the start of fixation to the reading is equal to or less than a reference difference; and a setting step, in which settings relating to the adjustment of the amount of ink droplets are configured on the basis of coverage factor information relating to a coverage factor of the ink in the gray scale image, which is acquired on the basis of the results of reading the unrecorded area, the gray scale image, and the beta image.
