Abstract:

In an ink supply device and method and a printer, it is possible to increase print quality by preventing ink leakage when the printer is halted by means of providing: ink source rollers (71a, 71b, 91a, 91b); ink keys (72a, 72b, 92a, 92b); an ink key aperture adjustment device (115) that can adjust the aperture of the ink keys (72a, 72b, 92a, 92b); a roller drive device (111) that can rotate the ink source rollers (71a, 71b, 91a, 91b); and a control device (121) that reduces the ink key aperture by means of the ink key aperture adjustment device (115) as a result of the input of an ink supply halt signal, and that can rotate the ink source rollers (71a, 71b, 91a, 91b) by means of the roller drive device (111) for a predetermined time.
