Title:
INPUT DEVICE USING SENSORS MOUNTED ON FINGER TIPS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2007/129663
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
It is possible to perform a key entry or a click and a drag operation by using finger ends of both hands without operating a keyboard. A user puts on a glove (7) (including a glove covering only finger tips) with fingers, each having a motion detection sensor (4) (having the similar principle as the laser mouse or the optical mouse) and a tactile sensor (5) (such as a conductive rubber and a piezoelectric element) at each of the finger tips on both hands (like mounting a small-size laser mouse or an optical mouse on each of the finger tips). Motion information on each of the finger tips is transmitted to various information devices such as a personal computer (PC), a PDA, and a cellular phone so that the positions of the respective finger tips are displayed on a virtual keyboard (2) displayed on a display (3) of the information processing devices. When a user presses his/her finger tip against an arbitrary object such as a desk, the tactile sensor (5) detects the pressure applied to the finger tip so that a key entry corresponding to the finger tip pressed against the arbitrary object is performed.
