Abstract:

Disclosed are an insertion piece for a camshaft phaser and a camshaft phaser. The insertion piece (1) is used to be partly inserted and mounted in a centre hole of a rotor of the camshaft phaser, the whole insertion piece (1) has a stepped cylindrical shape and comprises a first cylindrical portion (11), a second cylindrical portion (13) and a third cylindrical portion (15) being connected to each other and coaxially arranged. The first cylindrical portion (11) extends in an axial direction, the second cylindrical portion (13) is located on an axial side of the first cylindrical portion (11) and extends in the axial direction, and the third cylindrical portion (15) is located on an axial side of the second cylindrical portion (13) and extends in the axial direction, the third cylindrical portion (15) forming a clamping portion for fixing a coil spring (5) of the camshaft phaser. The first cylindrical portion (11) has an external diameter smaller than that of the second cylindrical portion (13), and the second cylindrical portion (13) has an external diameter smaller than that of the third cylindrical portion (15). Therefore, a centre valve and a camshaft can be mounted to the insertion piece (1) such that the centre hole of the rotor is not necessary to form a stepped structure. The insertion piece can replace a fixing pin of the camshaft phaser in the prior art such that the camshaft phaser of the present invention has a simpler structure and lower cost.
