Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an inspection method which is capable of determining, with high accuracy, the amount of a bonding region formed on a separator base material during the production of a separator for lithium ion secondary batteries. An inspection method for a separator for lithium ion secondary batteries according to the present invention is used for separators for lithium ion secondary batteries, each of said separators having a bonding region which is formed on at least one surface of a separator base material, and which is formed of a binder. This inspection method comprises a process in which the amount of the formed bonding region is determined by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry wherein the surface of the separator base material, on which the bonding region has been formed, is irradiated with linearly polarized white light that serves as incident light, and the polarization change in the reflected light is subsequently measured.
