Abstract:
This integrated-type optical device (100D) that causes an optical circuit of a PLC (10) to serve as platform, that can easily achieve a hybrid integration of an optical function element (20), and that enables a high-precision butting coupling between optical waveguides, uses a substrate (19) for holding the butting coupling, the substrate (19) allowing light in wavelength regions from a UV light band to a visible light band to be transmitted to the optical circuit side on the upper surface of a substrate (1) of the PLC (10). In addition, a UV-curable adhesive is filled between an optical circuit of a PD (20) and the optical circuit of the PLC (10) and between an end surface of a substrate (11) of the PD (20) and an end surface of the substrate (19). Consequently, the UV-curable adhesive filled between the butting coupling end surfaces is cured by UV light that has passed through the substrate (19), and a coupling part (30D) can be formed.
