Abstract:
Provided in the present invention are a shelf assembly and a refrigerator. The shelf assembly comprises shelves, a driving mechanism, an object detection system and a controller. The object detection system is configured to detect an item placed adjacent to a shelf. The controller is configured to determine the proximity of the item and the shelf using the object detection system, detect a shelf movement event, and move the shelf in response to the shelf movement event.
