Abstract:
The present invention provides an inter-modal freight transport system and an inter-modal freight transport method, enabling rapid transportation of trailers at a low transport cost. The inter-modal freight transport system according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: a rail; a logistics terminal comprising a plurality of platforms installed outside the rail; and a rolling stock installed so as to be able to travel autonomously on the rail, wherein the rolling stock is coupled to a freight car deck surface and is coupled to be rotatable with respect to the freight car deck surface, and includes a first bogey and a second bogey which are disposed below the freight car deck surface. In particular, the rail includes: a traveling section including two traveling rails; a rotation section connected to the traveling rails wherein four rotating rails are disposed so as to be laterally tilted with respect to the traveling rails; and an alignment section connected to the rotating rails and including four aligning rails provided in parallel to the traveling rails. More specifically, the rolling stock travels from the traveling section to the alignment section by passing through the rotation section, wherein the rolling stock is positioned between the platforms in the alignment section, the first bogey and the second bogey are positioned on the same rail in the traveling section, and the first bogey and the second bogey are positioned on different rails from each other in the alignment section.
