Abstract:
A blow-by gas processing device of an internal combustion engine (1) introduces fresh air into a crank case (3) via a fresh air introduction passage (21) in order to recirculate blow-by gas in the crank case (3) to a combustion chamber (2). If the amount of fresh air that is introduced is increased, dissolving of NOx components into oil decreases concomitant with a rise in a ventilation rate, but, conversely, if the temperature of a merged gas of the blow-by gas and fresh air is lower than a certain temperature (T1), dissolving increases. In the present invention, a target merged gas temperature is set so as to avoid the generation of condensed water, and the amount of introduced fresh air is controlled to achieve the target merged gas temperature, taking into account the amount of the blow-by gas, the temperature of the blow-by gas, and the fresh air temperature.
