Title:
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/120737
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention is capable of extending the life of a reforming catalyst without detecting lowering/deteriorating of the performance of the reforming catalyst. An internal combustion engine system of the present invention is provided with: an internal combustion engine (10) wherein an exhaust circulation passage (30) is connected to an exhaust passage (13) and an air intake passage (12) that are communicated with a combustion chamber (11); a fuel-for-reforming injection device (33) which injects a fuel for reforming into an exhaust gas that circulates through the exhaust circulation passage (30); and a reformer (32) which is provided with a reforming catalyst that generates a hydrogen-containing gas with use of the fuel for reforming. This internal combustion engine system is provided with a reforming catalyst regeneration means (C3) which carries out regeneration of the reforming catalyst by having an oxygen-containing gas circulate through the exhaust circulation passage in every predetermined regeneration period of the reforming catalyst.
