Abstract:
Provided are: an ion exchange membrane for alkali chloride electrolysis that makes it possible to decrease electrolysis voltage and increase current efficiency when performing electrolysis of an alkali chloride; a production method therefor; and an alkali chloride electrolysis device using the ion exchange membrane for alkali chloride electrolysis. The ion exchange membrane for alkali chloride electrolysis includes: a layer (C) comprising a fluorine-containing polymer that has a carbonic acid-type functional group; and a layer (S) comprising a fluorine-containing polymer that has a sulfonic acid-type functional group. A reinforcing material containing reinforcing fibers is arranged within the layer (S). When measured after the ion exchange membrane for alkali chloride electrolysis is immersed in a 32 mass% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, warmed at 90°C for 16 hours, and subsequently immersed for three hours in a 32 mass% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution having a temperature of 25°C, the AC resistance value A of the layer (S) and the AC resistance value B of the layer (C) simultaneously satisfy the following expressions: 1(Ω·cm2) ≤ A ≤ 10(Ω·cm2); and 200(Ω·cm2) ≤ B ≤ 450(Ω·cm2).
