Abstract:
Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide beam management for wireless communication through joint beam management in integrated terrestrial/non-terrestrial networks. Proactive beam management procedures are defined in conjunction with scenario-driven beam failure instance weights. Network devices may exercise control over candidate beams, which are provided to user devices, being given higher importance in various scenarios. The network devices may be provided with an ability to configure non-terrestrial beam pair links, allowing the user devices to make use of terrestrial networks and non-terrestrial networks seamlessly. Interruption-free service is enabled, wherein the user device is allowed to maintain a functional beam pair link while proactively scanning for candidate beams. The scanning may be triggered, for example, when only one beam pair link remains functional.
