Abstract:
Small vehicles provided with a chassis that is for a very small electric vehicle and that has a ladder-type main frame are unprotected against lateral collisions. In the present invention, a chassis (20) has main frame (21) and a side frame (22). The side frame (22) has a projecting member (26) that projects in the lateral direction and a lateral coupling member (27). The lateral coupling member (27) is joined to the main frame (21) so as to have less joining strength in the lateral direction than in the front-rear direction. Seats (7) are securely joined to the lateral coupling member (27). When the projecting member (26) is deformed during a lateral collision, the lateral coupling member (27) becomes disjoined from the main frame (21) and moves with the seats (7) so as to escape from the colliding object.
