Abstract:
The present invention provides a lens unit that makes it possible to achieve weight reduction of VR goggles and an improvement in the viewability thereof. A lens unit according to an embodiment of the present invention is used in a display system that displays an image to a user, said lens unit comprising: a reflective polarizing member that reflects light which has been emitted frontward from a display surface of a display element showing an image, and which has passed through a polarizing member and a first λ/4 member; a first lens unit that is disposed on the optical path between the display element and the reflective polarizing member; a half mirror that is disposed between the display element and the first lens unit, that transmits light which is emitted from the display element, and that reflects, toward the reflective polarizing member, light which has been reflected by the reflective polarizing member; a second lens unit that is disposed in front of the reflective polarizing member; a second λ/4 member that is disposed on the optical path between the half mirror and the reflective polarizing member; and a first protective member and second protective member that are disposed on the optical path between the half mirror and the reflective polarizing member. The first protective member and the second protective member are disposed opposite from each other with a space therebetween. The first protective member and the second protective member each exhibit a maximum value of not more than 1.2% in a 5° specular reflectivity spectrum in the wavelength range of 420-680 nm.
