Provided is a lens unit for a lighting instrument provided with a plurality of light sources and including a plurality of lenses corresponding to the plurality of light sources, with which it is possible to readily and accurately perform work for installing the lenses, and also provided is such a lighting instrument.　Provided is a lens unit (2) provided with: a plurality of lenses (3) into which light from a plurality of LEDs (51) is made to enter individually; and a lens plate (4) holding the lenses (3). The lens plate (4) is provided with a plurality of lens holes (41) in which the plurality of lenses (3) are installed individually, and pins (42) defining installation positions of the lenses (3) with respect to the lens holes (41) are provided in peripheral regions of the lens holes (41). Furthermore, the lens plate (4) is provided with: spacers (43) that provide a prescribed gap (d) between the lens unit (2) and a substrate (5); and bosses (44) for fixing positions for installation on the substrate (5).
