Abstract:
In the present invention, an optical filter (1) is provided with a matrix (10) constituted from an inorganic substance in which the solubility in water is 0.4 g/100 g-H2O or below, and a wavelength-selective absorption material (20) distributed in the matrix (10). The optical filter (1) absorbs a light component having wavelengths in a band in a target wavelength band of 0.8 μm to 20 μm. The temperature at which the mass decrease ratio of the wavelength-selective absorption material (20) when heated at a speed of 10 °C/minute from 100°C in air is 10 mass% is 900°C or below. The apparent density of the optical filter (1) with respect to the true density of the matrix (10) is 80% or above. In the target wavelength band, the wavelength band width at which the linear transmittance of the optical filter (1) per 1 mm thickness is 30% or above is 50 nm or above.
