Abstract:
A lesion area dividing device is provided which can suppress deterioration in accuracy of lesion diagnosis regardless of the shape of the lesion area in a medical image. A rectangle creating unit (2) creates a rectangle that circumscribes the lesion area in the medical image. A division number ratio calculation unit (3) calculates a division number ratio on the basis of the image aspect ratio of an input image inputted to a device that identifies lesions, and a rectangle aspect ratio, which is the ratio of the vertical-direction length and the horizontal-direction length of the rectangle. Depending on the division number ratio, a multiplier calculation unit (4) calculates a vertical-direction and a horizontal-direction resize multiplier of the rectangle image, which is surrounded by the rectangle and includes the lesion. A resizing unit (5) resizes the rectangle image by the resizing multiplier. A division unit (6) divides the resized rectangular image into one or more images such that the size of each image after division corresponds to the size of the input image.
