A light-emitting element (5R･5G･5B) comprises: a first electrode (22) that includes a first conductive layer (22a) having a flat surface (22S) that reflects visible light as an upper surface, and a second conductive layer (22b) which is provided on the flat surface (22S) and is transmissive to the visible light, the second conductive layer (22b) comprising a first region having a first thickness, a second region positioned around the first region and having a second thickness greater than the first thickness, and a third region positioned around the second region and having a third thickness greater than the second thickness; a function layer (24R･24G･24B) and a second electrode (25) formed on the function layer (24R･24G･24B), the function layer (24R･24G･24B) being formed on the second conductive layer (22b) along the shape of the second conductive layer (22b) and comprising at least a light-emitting layer, the second electrode (25) being transmissive to the visible light; and an edge cover (23) which comprises at least one of a material that scatters the visible light and a material that blocks the visible light, covers at least a part of the edge of the first electrode (22), and is formed higher than the second electrode (25).
