Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a light radiation unit that, with a simple structure, is capable of radiating light from two light-emitting elements so as to overlap in the same region. [Solution] This light radiation unit (1) comprises: first and second concave mirrors (10, 20) that each have a reflection surface (12, 22), the reflection surfaces (12, 22) being formed on a partial concave surface of a spheroid obtained by rotating a first ellipse and a partial concave surface of a spheroid obtained by rotating a second ellipse having a smaller major diameter and a larger eccentricity than the first ellipse, respectively, with the rotation axes being the major axes passing through first and second focal points of each of the ellipses, wherein the first concave mirror (10) is open on the second focal point side and the second concave mirror (20) is open on both end sides in the major axis direction; a first light-emitting element (15) that emits light toward the first concave mirror (10) from the first focal point (F1a) of the first ellipse; and a second light-emitting element (25) that emits light toward the second focal point of the second ellipse from the first focal point (F1b) of the second ellipse. The first and second concave mirrors (10, 20) are arranged such that the first focal point (F1b) of the second ellipse is positioned on the rotation axis between the first focal point (F1a) of the first ellipse and a shared focal point (F2) where the second focal points of the first and second ellipses match. The light from the first and second light-emitting elements (15, 25) is radiated from the shared focal point (F2) side.
