A linear motor (100), comprising: a sliding seat (20), a base (10) slidably connected to the sliding seat (20), a primary assembly (30), a secondary assembly (40) and an electric brush assembly (70), wherein the primary assembly (30) and the electric brush assembly (70) are fixed to one of the base (10) and the sliding seat (20), and the secondary assembly (40) is fixed to the other of the base (10) and the sliding seat (20); the primary assembly (30) comprises at least two armature windings (32) which are spaced apart and a connecting member (33) which is connected to the two armature windings (32), and the at least two armature windings (32) are used to generate a traveling-wave magnetic field; the secondary assembly (40) and the primary assembly (30) are opposite and spaced apart from each other, and the secondary assembly (40) comprises a plurality of excitation windings (42) which are arranged at intervals; and the electric brush assembly (70) is electrically conducted to the excitation windings (42) corresponding to the primary assembly (30), such that the secondary assembly (40) generates an excitation magnetic field, and the traveling-wave magnetic field and the excitation magnetic field interact with each other to push the base (10) or the sliding seat (20) to slide in a sliding direction. The linear motor (100) reduces copper loss and runs more smoothly.
