A linear motor (100) comprises: a base (1), a slide base (2) covering the base (1) and defining an accommodation space (10) together with the base (1), a first slide rail (3) fixed to an end of the base (1) adjacent to the slide base (2), a second slide rail (4) fixed to the slide base (2) and slidably connected to the first slide rail (3), and a stator assembly (5) and a rotor assembly (6) accommodated in the accommodation space (10). One of the stator assembly (5) and the rotor assembly (6) is fixed to the base (1), and the other is fixed to the slide base (2). The stator assembly (5) and the rotor assembly (6) interact with each other to drive the slide base (2) to perform linear motion relative to the base (1). An installation recess (13) is provided at the base (1), and is recessed from a side of the base (1) adjacent to the slide base (2) and extends away from the slide base (2). The installation recess (13) communicates with the accommodation space (10), and the first slide rail (3) is fixedly installed at the installation recess (13). The linear motor (100) further comprises a cover plate (11a) fixed to the base (1) and covering the installation recess (13). The linear motor can be easily installed, and has good protection performance.
