Abstract:
To provide a liquid crystal display device that suppresses reductions in display quality caused by occurrences of bright lines at the end parts of a light guide plate (26), a backlight unit (23) has, in a plane view, two or more regions that can output light of different brightnesses. The light guide plate (26) has ridge lines in locations corresponding to region boundary parts, and the ridge lines of the light guide plate (26) have a light diffusion shape that can diffuse light and output the same.
